This course is designed to pair perfectly with our Movement Patterns & Motor Learning program. However, there are no prerequisites.

Learn how to design yoga classes influenced by human movement science and an understanding of common dysfunctional movement patterns. We will utilize corrective exercise, motor-learning strategies, and the class-design template that I will share with you. This is a 60-hour Yoga Alliance accredited program. Registration is open today.

This program is for those interested in designing robust yoga classes that encourage musculoskeletal functionality, mindful awareness, and a heightened understanding of human movement and physiology. This class design methodology promotes yoga practices that empower through education.

In this course, we will discuss designing practices to correct the dysfunctional movement patterns (DMPs) 1-6 that are taught in detail in the course: Movement Patterns & Motorlearning. Although we highly recommend that you take that course to accompany this one, it is not imperative. This course contains equal parts conceptual, embodied, and application content. This means you will be invited to dive into your own personal practice to enhance your learning. Additionally, you will have class design assignments in which you will apply the concepts learned for feedback.

In addition to design elements correlated to the dysfunctional movement patterns 1-6, we will cover considerations with:

  • Kinetic chains

  • Planes of movement

  • Mindful awareness science

  • Anatomical articulations

  • Anatomy and physiology of breath

Additionally this course includes:

  • Video lecture

  • Meditation and breathing exercises

  • Movement practices

  • Blog discussions

  • Reading assignments

  • Class design assignments

  • Assessments
