Seriously, take it! I think the information in this course is so good, every teacher should take it. And if you're not a teacher, but you're interested, you should take it too. I find myself using the information from this course in my own practice, my daily life and of course as a teacher. I've experience noticeable growth in my teaching and even received really nice feedback from students. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the information because it is as interesting as it is useful. I found the online format actually really supported my learning because I could take my time to absorb, take thorough notes and find thoughtful answers. The course is very well-organized and each piece is clever and intentional. The forums and Stacy's feedback create a really supportive and connected environment. Most importantly, the information is invaluable and empowering. Its so refreshing to take a course and walk away learning even more than you'd hoped. I can't recommend it enough!

This was the first module I took for my 300hr training with Stacy and Dave. There is so much good information in this course, and I started implementing some of the things I learned immediately into my classes. My students are a huge fan of the core integration sequence too! It's been a huge expander for me to take a deeper dive into functional movement from a dysfunctional pattern approach. I see so many things differently with my students now and am helping them to see it for themselves as well. I would recommend this course to everyone, both teachers and avid students. Understanding the body as a system on this level is so important for a long and healthy practice and I'm excited to learn more. Thanks Stacy & Dave!

The way in which the material in this course is presented and how we are asked to interact with it as learners has really facilitated the application of these ideas to my practice and my teaching. Stacy has done an excellent job of presenting the material in way that makes it accessible to all types of learners as well as both students and teachers. I highly recommend taking this course if you want to learn how to create a yoga practice that is functional and sustainable.

The expertise and knowledge that Stacy exudes is absolutely amazing. She is well organized and professional. She ties in current data and practices with the ancient sutras beautifully. This program is practical, and so wonderfully adaptable. Such a common sense approach to teaching and helping students create a sustainable yoga practice. I'm so appreciative.

  • Increase your understanding of the intersection between body awareness, mindfulness, and embodiment. Learn how these modalities are being used as adjunct therapies in the field of mental health.

Self-Paced Virtual Program

40 Hr. CEU Available

In this course, we examine typical yoga posture and alignment with the intention of delivering balanced movement, strengthening, and mobility opportunities for practitioners. You will learn to recognize six dysfunctional movement patterns (DMPs) that are often missed by yoga teachers and students alike. Without awareness of movement patterns, years of yoga practice can exacerbate musculoskeletal dysfunction and lead to eventual discomfort and pain.
You will learn strategies to address the six DMPs within a yoga practice. You will gain a strong understanding of how to shape your classes for increased functionality while maintaining the essence of what you already teach. Additionally, we discuss the why behind dysfunctional movement. Motor learning, developmental kinesiology, and foundational movement re-education is incorporated within the lectures and assignments. Current scientific literature review is an integral part of the course.

Take away an increased confidence with creating classes that are essential for the sustainability of your student’s practice.

The information in this course serves as an excellent foundation for the other two courses: Design 3.0 and Embodied Presence & The Sensorimotor System.
